Shauna Singh Baldwin Author
I
was first contacted by Shauna via our mutual friend Corrie
Johnson. Shauna was researching Noor
Inayat Khan for a couple of years and wanted to do some research
on the London connections for Noor and also get some insight into the
life of a WWII pilot and, hopefully, meet one.
We had a busy few days visiting 64 Baker Street, RAF Hendon Aircraft Museum, the Cabinet War Rooms in Westminster and Noors family home in London.
I had also managed to contact Hugh Verity although, a few weeks before we were due to meet him at his home, he had sustained a broken hip but insisted on still meeting us despite having only escaped from hospital a couple of days beforehand.
Whilst here in London she managed to boost the econony ten fold and despite long days and miles of walking always had a smile. Thank you Shauna and I am almost recovered!
You can learn more about Shauna here and if you should ever find yourself in Milwaukee you have to check out this watering hole The Safe-House be warned, for obvious reasons, the entrance is hidden. Of course it will help if you have passed the SOE Course: Lessons in Ungentlemanly Warfare. However, if you want to take the easy route then:
43° 2' 26" N
87° 54' 37" W
Code phrase: "A large Irish please"
See you there.....
